LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Thunder crews are busy with last-minute fireworks preparations for Saturday's Thunder Over Louisville.
Work on the show actually began last year.

The barges are set up with a combination of the fireworks everyone loves, with some new ones thrown in the mix.
It's another year of Thunder with another thunderous fireworks show sure to impress.
"We're putting tens of thousands of shells up into the air to give us that effect we all expect, that thunder power we're really trying to get, and it will be there," said Zambelli Fireworks President Doug Taylor.
The Pennsylvania-based fireworks company has been wowing the waterfront since the early 1990s.
"They're putting on a show. This is entertainment. Our group is just excited to be here every year," Taylor said.
Taylor said even with this year's weather problems, all systems are a go. Forecasted rain and a swollen Ohio River may impact the air show and boaters, who are being asked to stay off the water.
"The main reason for that is a lot of the hazardous conditions that are on the water such as high water, swift current, debris and the 40 degree temperatures can create navigation problems for inexperienced boaters," said United States Coast Guard Cmdr. Derek Schade.
But the show must go on.
As work continues to get everything ready for Thunder Over Louisville, the Second Street bridge has already been shut down in preparation for that massive fireworks show Saturday night.
They're some of the final preparations in the final hours leading up to one of the largest fireworks shows in the country.
"The sponsors and community welcomes us every year and we have a great time being here. We're going to give you that good show again," Taylor said.
The fireworks show will last nearly 30 minutes.
Taylor said the grand finale will be nothing short of that.
He said 6,000 to 7,000 shells of fireworks will shoot up in the air during the last 45 seconds of the show.
